Bob ‘Voke’ Vokey left his hometown of Verdun, Canada in 1964 and settled in Carlsbad, California. Voke opened his first custom golf shop in 1976 and quickly became a trusted clubmaker for golf’s top professionals. That reputation led him to key roles at TaylorMade, Founders Club, and ultimately Titleist, where he helped shape iconic equipment such as the Titleist Titanium 975D driver.

In 1996, Titleist wanted to create top-tier wedges. In an R&D meeting, Bob raised his hand; “I’ll do it.”
Bob’s wedge designs have been shaped by constant time alongside Tour professionals. Listening to their needs—especially on feel—became his greatest R&D advantage. While the PGA Tour served as the ultimate testing ground and embraced Vokey wedges for decades, Bob’s designs were always guided by a broader purpose: translating Tour-proven performance into tools that resonated with and elevated golfers of every skill level.

Bob Vokey forever changed the game of golf through an unwavering commitment to the short game, believing that precision, feel, and creativity around the greens were just as important as power off the tee. His wedges became trusted tools in the hands of the game’s greatest competitors, quietly shaping countless iconic moments without ever demanding attention themselves. By obsessing over detail and listening closely to the players who relied on his designs under the highest pressure, Vokey elevated the wedge from a simple scoring club into an instrument of artistry and confidence—one that influenced how the game was played at every level, from the world’s biggest stages to local fairways.
As a nod to his commitment to the game, Bob Vokey was inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame in 2017.

"Your best scoring club is your confidence…then, it’s a wedge.”
