- What is the thinking or engineering reason for cast wedges?
- Titleist Vokey Design wedges are cast from mild carbon steel which is heat treated to match the softness of the material we use in our family of forged irons (Z•B Forged, Z•M Forged, AP2). This means the feel and sound of Vokey wedges are very similar to forged irons. Over one hundred Vokey Design wedges are played each week at a typical PGA Tour event so the feel and performance are well-accepted by the best players in the world. We choose to cast Vokey wedges because of the large number of models we develop for both the worldwide professional tours and the marketplace. Cast tooling is a more efficient and accurate way to faithfully reproduce the special grinds Bob creates for the Tour. We are also able to more rapidly develop and test prototype sole grinds and to finalize the slight tweaks needed to create the best performing wedge products.

- How can I get one of your prototype wedges like those used on Tour?
- New wedges are constantly being tested and performance validated by our Leadership Staff players on Tour. If a wedge product passes our strict Tour validation process, it may be added to the Titleist product line available in golf shops. Additionally, we will from time-to-time offer Limited Edition Vokey Design wedges through this website.

- How much bounce should my wedges have?
- The bounce angle of a wedge affects the interaction of the club and ground at impact. In general, the more bounce the wedge has, the better the wedge plays in soft sand and turf conditions. The less bounce the wedge has, the better the wedge plays in firm sand and fairway conditions. Better players generally prefer to use wedges with a variety of bounces for specific shot types and course conditions.
A player's swing type also plays a part in selecting the correct bounce for a wedge. Players that are considered diggers or drivers should use more bounce than players that are considered sweepers or pickers. - Can I adjust the bounce on my Vokey Design wedge?
- The bounce angle of a wedge can be changed by adjusting the loft or grinding the sole. When adjusting the loft, the bounce will change equally to the degree the loft is changed (i.e., weakening the loft will increase the bounce, strengthening the loft will decrease the bounce).
